Oh Blogspot - you've been so good to me! (mainly because you were FREE!) Thank you for all the opportunities to share my photos and stories, but I'm moving on to greener pastures... come check out the new wordpress blog that my friend Shanti helped design and build. There are galleries, price lists, archives of posts, and a video tour of my studio/gallery. Pour yourself a glass of wine, sit back, get lost in the photos, and ENJOY!!!!

Hazlett Rumpf family
I shot Suzanne and Chuck's wedding (as well as her son's wedding) WAY back in the film era. They live here now and gather the clan every now and again. My favorite part of my job is developing relationships with clients and watching their family grow.
she LOVES rocks!......

So this clever couple did it all backwards. First they did the landscaping, THEN they built the house. They started out with a plot of land that was worse than flat (sloping down towards the neighbors yard), trucked in a bunch of dirt and started planting (with the expert help of Native Landscapes). Gave it some time to mature, and then built a very cool eco house. Then I got on my belly and got intimate with some of their native plants.

So WAY out in May, Idaho (uh, that's past Challis and Ellis then take a right on a farm road for another 16 miles, then a dirt road for another mile or so), is a house that doesn't look like the others, called Double Helix Ranch. Owned by the super nice Jim and Karen Posada -he's a wiz at biotech - and thus the name. They wanted me to come out and do some lifestyle portraits of them and all things dear to them, Katie the dog, and as many cats as I could lure into camera range, as well as some portraits of the house. They don't have kids, but the house is kind of like their baby - a labor of love over many years picking the spot and building it with the architectural help of Derik Ryan.
I drove out there in my VW Westfalia van for the evening light, then slept in my van (oh the stars!) and caught the morning light for some more pics. Before leaving, they treated me to breakfast at the Giddy Up cafe, to catch up on all the latest gossip. I love my job ; )
